DIGITAL CAVE | MONOLITH STUDY
This project was an exploration into digital fabrication techniques and efficiency of material. The project attempts to utilize minimal material to create a large amount of space. Here a form is made in monolith, which is then 3D printed as a thin sheet that is used to create a series of spaces that can be inhabited. The sheet mimics a stepping motion throughout in order to support itself and to create a multitude of sitting spaces. The material is also manipulated to create spaces of different sizes and overhead conditions to produce a variety of qualities within the cave.
